I've got no idea what the cause of this problem can be. But you might want to post your client log. (Usually unreal.log)

Check the following settings in Unreal.ini under OpenGL:
MaxLogTextureSize=8
MinLogTextureSize=0
MaxLogVOverU=8
MaxLogUOverV=8
Change them if needed. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

Try to set your S3TC settings in single player mode. Use the OMP maual for details.
Hint: Command is 'preferences'. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

I had a post from Diehard of CW thought I'd post it, might help others.. all is fine now hehehee.
Hey Spaceman,
On itself the S3TC wont do anything, if theres a problem, than its related to the used patch itself and the videodriver you do use. S3TC simply depends on a succesfull patch and driver. If those are ok S3TC will do its job.
So regardless what, its a driver and/or patch problem.
And yes there is a forum that deals with all your questions.
I wanted to give you those links, but it seems now that the site is down unfortunatelly due to a bandwidth problem
In any case the site mentioned is www.oldunreal.com That site has tons of people able to help out in any problem. As soon as the site is fully up again i will mail you again, to let you know, and i for sure hope it will be very soon.
For now, the Celtic Warriors site is hopelessly outdated as far as installation instructions, i still need to do an installation on Unreal, UnrealGold and UT and write proper instructions while doing that.
And i have no clue how this all works for UnrealGold, but i tried this myself for you:
Download from this page:
http://www.celticwarriors.net/Downloads/MultiMediaPatches/
This patch OMP-UGOLD-V0.2.zip on that page.
- Install a clean UnrealGold, when it askes for what video, choose OpenGL.
- Unpack the OMP-UGOLD-V0.2.zip zipfile and copy its content to the C:\UnrealGold\System folder, and let it overwrite everything inthere.
- Run UnrealGold and on the flyby around the castle hit TAB button and type: preferences
- In the advanced options:
- scroll down till Driver and make sure that GameRenderDevice is set to OpenGL.
- scroll all the way down till Rendering ---> OpenGL Support and set UseS3TC to True.
- Shut down UnrealGold.
- Than add the S3TC textures to the Texturefolder.
- Than open Deck16, that one shows alot of S3TC textures.
Further, make sure you do have your latest videodriver installed.
Simply test if you can get it running.
If this won't work, you could try the older version: OMP-UGOLD.zip
Its a real pitty OldUnreal is down at the moment, because this for sure is a question for the forums there. If it works for you, than let me know, if not, let me know also, but do give more information, like videocard, OS, stuff like that. If i cannot help you further we have to wait till OldUnreal is up again, but i hope this will do it for you.
Greeting, Diehard |
