Quick question for any mappers out there...I'm just getting back into mapping and know it's best to map in 225f and my server is also a 225f server so that makes the most sense but there are video issues with 225f.
I have tried using glidewrapper and it works but with some annoying bugs...no menu, movement is very inconsistent and twitchy, the D3D driver works but the game runs at 800 MPH, opengl won't run at all regardless of which gl driver I try.

Any mappers got any suggestions?
Granted it doesn't have to be a prefect rendering considering I only use it to "preview" the map while editing but it would be great if it ran better....

Thanks a lot guys,
Bass

Set your max framerate to 60 in advanced options to stop the 800MpH thing.

No such setting in 225f...
I believe you are referring to Gold or 226..

Whoops, I'm thinking of 227 here sorry.

If all else fails, fall back to software rendering. Horrible to look at, but at least it works

That's not even a consideration...I need a decent way to preview the map as I edit it and software mode doesn't cut-it....

There are some patches for OpenGL on Oldunreal, just make sure you get the right one for the version of unreal you are running.

Do you run a server? I've never seen one with your name.
It might be Vista, it seems to block some server showing up for some reason :S

There are none for 225 but I tried a buttload of them anyway and like I said no matter which I tried it wouldn't run in GL..that's why I was hoping there was a mapper out there who has had this issue...might have to map in 226 and convert them to 225 but it would be nice if someone knew this ;-)

Ran one for a while, in the process of getting it back up with new content.

Seems like converting it from 226 to 225 is the way to go then.

Ah, I didn't know you had a server in the first place. Hope it goes back up soon.

Here's the answer for any would be mappers>>>

Bleeder is right, You can hex edit the 226 map file to run in a 225f server environment with no issues I could find BUT you MUST do it manually none of the so-called "map converters" work reliably...

You should also have 2 installs of Unreal for mapping ONLY (I know sounds stupid but really is necessary) One is patched to 225f and is used to verify the map conversion and one patched to 226 for all the actual mapping and the ability to preview/play without the video issues of 225f.

Gotta Love Epic....Actually No I don't :-P

Peace out,
Bass
