Howdy,
Folks who often walks in to www.unrealsp.org may allready be aware of this project, but for those who haven't; advance your glance.
Representing N-Team, I'd like to introduce a project for Unreal and Unreal Tournament we have in the pipeline; The Sundered Realms: Virtually Indestructible
Plot
Quote: | Based within the outskirts of the Magellan major, an ethereal new world awaits a visit from a rather peculiar charactor. A world defined by the unnatural locals as a place of right, but for the Karathorian slavers; merely another chain to stretch in space, to boast power, wealth and industry to all the other Skaarj empires. Karathorians don't even concider anything else to be a threat other than the rival nations, seeking to enslave and dominate races and worlds. How Officer 97 will prove them oh so very tragically wrong, bettering each and every one of them at their own game; if their own game is brute strength and melee combat.
Take the role of 1st Officer 97, an employee in an interstellar shipment firm. Mercenaries board your ship with the intent to gain profit or kill if necessary, or some such as Officer 97; torn to shreads, impounded by assault rifle rounds through spite. Officer 97, pronounced dead raises up from the floor. In a burst of malice, you launch accross the bridge where you fell and kick the absolute crap out of the ring leader; certainly without failing to impress. The other mercenaries witness the horrible punishment you have given the ring leader, as he lay on the floor screaming; pissing his pants. The other mercs stand there in shock, merely by a certain essence emitted by your appearance which tells them they are powerless and weak in comparison to you. They are right to think that, because mere seconds later you beat the life out of their gormless bodies.
You and your fellow crewmen are not yet out of the woods, on an attempt to lose the mercenary vessel which was erlier on chasing up behind your ship, find yourselves faced directly at a planet not emitting any traces of its own existance on any piece of radar equipment your vessel has. The crew suddenly suffer from depression and anguish, and go into a state of shock and unconsciousness. Failing to awaken Captain Felix, lopped over his lifeless controlls attempt to steer the vessel yourself, as you are the only one who remains conscious. You yank that joystick as hard as possible but to no avail. Increasingly foreboding still as every time you look back at the world you somehow gain immense distance towards it, whereas the ship is obviously not possible to move that fast.
"That doesn’t make sense." clarifying bitterly. “That does not make sense.” he repeats.
Waves on the surface of the sea become visible, an unnerving sign of the distance the ship is making in such short time; it is not normal. It dives down and down.
The ship is completely, utterly, suddenly swung in the other direction, as if swinging on a pivot based above the planet. Officer 97 and Felix’s limp body are instantly slammed to the back of the bridge from the force of the swing. The back of the ship scrapes along the surface of the sea, tearing apart its rear engines. It is then swung out of the water, losing friction on its exit. The officer cannot direct his eyes due to the ferocious swing of the ship, but he happens to notice something floating high above the sea, he just cannot make out what it is. After being swung out of the water, it is lobbed right back up, looking straight down again to the surface of the water, but this object floats between them. Felix’s body and the officer fall, slamming against glass on the front of the bridge, as that is where the gravity is pulling. The ship then falls downwards towards the object, whatever it is. Felix is quickly lifted to the back of the bridge, as the ship is falling faster than the people inside it, but Officer 97 only hovers gradually, and is not light enough to be seemingly glided to the back of the bridge.
On the point of impact, life seems to become still. The front of the ship tears through the rocky material of the object tossing rubble, metal and stone up behind itself. The bridge’s front window seems to be portraying a senseless blur indefinable due to the fast ferocity of action the ship is performing. The officer and Felix fall to the front window as the vessel begins to scrape to a halt.
Now get out and meet the locals, some aren't very happy to see you; let an army based on wealth, fear and dominance fail to endure your malice, and fail to comprehend with your indestructibility. |
The Sundered Realms is a first-person-screenplay-non-Linear-role-playing game, using the format of an innovative gameplay texture, measuring the proportions of ones skill and intelligence with effect.
Areas have a higher degree of interactivity in how you use the scene in general and how to interact with objects (Cupboards, notices, etc...). Posess the ability to hide in the shadows, go to whatever maps are accessable to you at the time and converse/interact more with other people.

The Outer World
When you die, this is where you go. Only under strict circumstance due to the purpose you surve and what progress you achieve may you live again.
The Bandit Metropolis
Once a bitterly cold hideaway for a large populouse of blasphemous bandits, now taken by the Karathorian slavers as a hidden underground vault. The temperature has dropped ever so much.
Garrison issue Karathorian structure
There are thousands of these structures scattered accross the entire planet. The exterior structure acts as a giant antenna to beacon capital threats, while the interior underground features several essential rooms to house measurement enforcers and captives. Still a WIP.

Have an orgasmic day. |

Looks nice.
Is it going to be 225f friendly or only 226/Gold? _________________ Beware the lollipop of mediocrity - lick it once and you suck forever.

Since it's a total conversion addon, you don't add maps and other files to your unreal directory. Instead you install it to its own, like rtnp.
With the way it is, it's pretty hard to implament a coop system under the rules of the single player campaign. We'll worry about the multiplayer game when the sp is done. Count on it having something to do with 2-4 friends playing charactors with each of their own roles, somehow dedicated to a specially made coop storyline (visiting the same settings you do in sp).
And keep in mind, this is a non-linear game. |
