I'm aware that is technically.......
"allocated dynamically for each helper UDPLink objects, including UDPServerUplink objects."

But I have setup my router for port forwarding for an Unreal server and I keep hearing different things.
First I heard, you don't need to forward that port, so I didn't.
But I am having one problem in particular I can't figure out and it may be related somehow.
I have Jcoop4 configured for idle kick and it should broadcast a beep and message accross the screen. Well it's not broadcasting the message on the screen and I don't know if it's related or not.

I'm aware I am asking 2 different questions here.

So do I really need to forward 7779?
And if someone know the answer to the broadcast question that would be great

> Well, actually, I don't know. I've heared that each player needs a separate UDP port, but I never read a confirmation of this. Just to be sure you maybe should forward 10 ports from the main game port (default 7777), depending on the player count. That is working ok for me.

I don't know something about the beep sound of the JCoop4 idle player kick function, since it's years ago I ran a JCoop4 server.

JCoop4 uses no extra ports for doing any sort of message transmission. I think I've seen what you describe before and it's probably a bug in how the idle timer code works.

There is no need to forward enough ports for the server's max player count. All UDP player and gameplay transmission goes through the server's host port 7777 or whatever else the server's host port is designated as. Port 7778 is used for the server's query actor and 7779+ is dependant on how many master uplink actors on the server have spawned. Still, it shouldn't be neccessary to open any more than the host port, query port, and UDP outgoing ports 27500/27900. The only place where UDP ports are dynamicaly opened for a player is from the client-side preparing for connection to the server's host port. Also keep in mind that whenever you change the host port that the server uses the query actor port will automaticaly start +1 above that number (ex. host port 7767, query port 7768, 7769+ help objects).

A bug in Jcoop4's code huh?.... bummer

OK so the word is, No need to forward 7779, for UDP helper's.

Thanks.
