|
|
Hello, i once made a tool to control my server settings and some other things because im lazy and stuff. i resently released this tool on my forum, i tought people here would find it usefull too.
This is still a beta program, i removed all the 'unstable' functions in the tool so you people wont complain when you screw you server with them lol.
Current features:
-Set server name
-Set admin password
-Set game password
-Set if the server needs to autoreboot on crash
-Set if the server needs to uplink to the masterserver
-Set the gametype
-Set the map
-Set the mutator(s)
-Set the maximum players
-Logfiles
It will create a logfile you can delete anytime, the logfile will currently contains when the file is created, when the server is started, when the server crashed and when the server is autorebooted.
The layout of the logfile is like this:
[DATE]
[TIME]=[Log]
(Logfile is SRSC.log in the same folder)
When you did all this it will save it to an ini file into the same folder, dont delete this otherwise you will loose your settings over and over again.
Also, the first time when you run the program, you will need to locate the Unreal system directory.
This tool will alter your unreal.ini!!
But no worries, it will make a backup before that happens, the backup will be something like:
unreal_SRSC.ini.bak inside the system folder, but i dont think this is needed, because it works fine now.
If you have any suggestions or anything else to it.
Post it here.
You can download version 1.2 here:
SRSC_V1.2.zip
suggestions:
1. STOP your unreal server before using this tool.
2. DONT run this tool twice.
3. If you want to stop your server and have auto reboot on, rightclick the server icon in the system tray, choose Exit, then quickly goto the tool and click 'Cancel autoreboot' _________________ Before asking, try the Unreal wiki here.

If this tool restarts your server after a crash, does it save the logfile? (To an unique name like with date and time in it) _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

Yes, I mean the Unreal server log. I currently use an advanced batch file to rename and save the server.log file every time the server crashes, so I can find out why it actually crashed. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

Ill add that option in the next update, to save server.log in the program's subfolder called Unreal Logfiles.
I think i will rename the logfiles to: <date>-<time>_server.log.
