I'm using Unreal 225 since a few days as client, and now i get a Can't find unrealshare.logo error from time to time when I try to join servers.
What is this error, and is there a solution for it? _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

Did you downgrade it from 226f or is it a fresh install? because if it ain't a fresh install that certain file might have gotten messed up somehow...(Almost like my core.dll got when i tried 224).
If it is a fresh install...Well then the problem is something else which i can't even give a clue off. _________________

I think that's the error v255 gets when they try to join a ugold server that doesn't have upak cut off. What version server are you trying to join? |

If that is not done, strictly Gold players can play on a Gold server because classic clients will end up with an "UnrealShare.logo" missing in most cases. |
It's a missing property or object that only the Gold version contains. Notify admins of Gold servers to disable UPak.u from ServerPackages if you want to be able to connect to them using classic unreal or if they want better compatibility for their server.

Is there any way to fix this in cache? (Editing upak.u in cache with a hex editor. Like the possibility to fix 226-only maps by replaceing levelsummary with specialevent) _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

You can try masking the "Logo" name from the UPak package, but I doubt that would fix the connecting issue for UPak enabled servers. What is confusing is that the error mentions the UnrealShare package even though the problem only appears after UPak is loaded on the server. If you perform any tests I'd be curious on your results.

What exactly do you mean with "masking"? Replacing with spaces? (probably won't help) Replacing with something else? _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

What I meant for masking is covering the name with some other charactors or another word. Try anything you think might work for a replacement. Work with normal variable names or class names of the same length, much like the levelsummary masking to specialevent trick.
