Also, I would like some help on why others can't get access to my server :/ It doesn't show up in the server listings (i have douplink to true and I have it set to advertise it)

I had saved the server to favorites from the LAN section where it was only shown at. I got the IP from the server listing and gave it to some fellow clan members to try out and gave them the password (correct spelling) I could get into the server with no problem with the information I gave them. I found a few more IPs that were directed to my computer that worked for me on getting into my server, but still not for them. I turned my firewall completely off (after making sure it granted total access to Unreal)

I do not understand why no one else can get in :/ My server has worked before. It showed up into the server listings and the same 2 people could get in. I have not tried this before I put in MCoop2, but could that be the problem? I tried running a normal Coop and a team game.

I have tried both the unreal set up for MCoop (where its dedicated and Hypernl suggested not to use that to play on) and the normal one I play on. Me and the others are stumped...maybe someone here can help?

When your server does not show up when you set douplink to true and disabled any firewalls, you probably have a router. In that case you HAVE to redirect Unreal's ports in your router to the local IP address of your server PC.

Quote:

People setting up Unreal servers behind firewalls have been asking for a summary of the TCP/IP ports Unreal uses. Here goes:

UDP 7775 and 7776 are used only for LAN games. You don't need to route them through a firewall.
UDP 7777 is for gameplay.
UDP 7778 is for server querying.
UDP 7779+ are allocated dynamically for each helper UdpLink objects, including UdpServerUplink objects.
UDP 27900 is for server querying, if you enable the master server uplink. Some master servers use other ports, like 27500.
When players try to connect to an Unreal server, they connect to port 7777 by default.

Optionally, the server administrator can specify a different game port than 7777 with the "port=" command line parameter, for example: "Unreal.exe -server port=8888". In this case, contiguous port numbers are used for helper objects: 8888 for gameplay, 8889 for querying, 8890 for helper UdpLink objects, etc.

Like Hyper has said, you are probably behind a router and should follow the posted information. The IP you supplied to your player friends from the LAN server list was most likely your internal private IP address which usually isn't publicaly accessible from outside the router.

But I gave them more than 1 IP that worked for me to get into the server. I have no clue which to use. Nor do I know which port I have to use :/ I'm very clueless...and now confused

All I know about ports is that mine says its 7778 :/

This link here will report to you the external public IP address. You can also gather some basic network connection information from the command prompt by typing ipconfig /all if that helps at all. Port 7778 is your query stats port. The main gameplay hostport is usually the number right before that (important one where players connect to). If you are trying to play with friends outside your area you're going to need help with that router stuff. I'm not good with guiding somebody through firewall or router configurations so let's see if Hyper will.

Here is an example how my port redirection is configured. Consult the manual of your router for more info.

manual for my router? I was never aware I even had one. I know very little of routers :/ So I would not know where mine would be or what to do with it.

We have had firewall when I started making a server before. People could access it just fine. We reciently got networking, and now Nobody else can get access to it.

I do not know it netowrking has anything to do with it. I apologize if I seem ignorant of all this, but there are some fields in computers I know nothing of.

Who set up your all your networking? Maybe you should ask him/her for assistance with the configurations. :/ That person could also guide and explain to you the processes for another time. Otherwise, find a network savy friend nearby have the person give you the 101.

Well my dad set it up. He's not thrilled of the idea of me making servers. But on the computer I am going to be perminately setting the servers to, does not have a firewall. So I'm guessing I would have a router...but I do not know how to locate it.

Try using ipconfig /all from a command prompt and find out what your default gateway is. If you look in Hyper's picture he accessed his router from his web browser at http://192.168.1.1 URL. So get your internal gateway IP (most small private networks use a Class C 192.168.x.x) and type it in a web browser to see what happens. If you can't do the command to find out then try increments from 1 to 5 and 251 to 254 on the last set of address digits in your web browser. If you get a page about router managment then you may be able to change configurations if there are no password protections.

Examples:
http://192.168.1.1 http://192.168.1.251
http://192.168.1.2 http://192.168.1.252
http://192.168.1.3 http://192.168.1.253
http://192.168.1.4 http://192.168.1.254
http://192.168.1.5
255 is reserved for broadcasts on a default class C network.

Most organized network admins chose either the first or the last set of IP address numbers of the designated subnet for their routers.

Hey umm i actaully just registered to this website but i think i can help you...Basically keep in mind what Hyper and zombie said....and its ok to give your router (or fixed) IP....almost everyone has just about identical ones...but anyway...What you do is go to Command promt and type in: Ipconfig /all, and there should be a crap load of stuff...but go to where it says Default Gateway (near the middle) and it should say an ip, im thinking somehting like 192.168.1.X or sumthing i may be wrong...but then take that number and go to (whatever the ip was type it in the interenet explorer URL spot....nothing else just the number) and it should take you to your IP Config thingy (you might have to ask your dad or whomever installed the router software what the username and password is...Usually its like no user name and the pass is Admin....but thats just the default one) anyway....then at the top go to Forwarding....or for some routers its Gaming...and you should get something similar to the Screenshot hyper had up top....just follow that or just go to www.hypercoop.tk and check out tips....or if it still doesnt work then just make sure that everyhting is how its supposed to be...(like UDP protocol and make sure your ports match...)

~FEW~ I hope it works! [color=darkblue]
