During the last days I have been busy with finding the right gameplay at the HyperCoop servers.

The game should be easy enough to be playable for players who join the server without special guns, and at the same time hard enough to still be challenging for players who have everything already. As you might guess, this is a difficult task. Last days I increased the difficulty a bit by increasing the health of some of the monsters and by putting back the Exorcist.

With the higher difficulty, I might be starting the limit of what's acceptible for new joiners. Still, it's too easy for players who have been playing for a long time.

I'll do more playtesting to find out an even better balance. Here are a few of the factors I can change:

Monster strength
Weapon strength
Number of monsters
Chance that a monster drops an item
Special items
Gemdagger shop items
Gemdagger shop prices

I'm currently thinking of removing the DragoonBoots and replace it by another item.

When you have been playing lately: Feel free to give your thoughts about the difficulty level of the game.

Replacing DragoonBoots? OMG some ppl will surely want to kill you then. :p
And is there any particular item you're thinking about?


I know maybe this is not great idea really, as many players use the item I'm complaining about but I would vote for removing (or at least raising the price of) Telekinesis. That is because the item maybe is very usefull but it is extremely annoying for other players when someone is using it.
In case of small rooms, corridors etc. passing user of Telekinesis by is sometimes almost impossible as it keeps to annoy you.

It's only my opinion of course and I leave it to your and other players' consideration.

ok i can understand removing gib but not both
yes dboots do make you god like
would you consider replacing them with gib or raising the price to say...1200?

Gib will not come back because it crashed the server.
Dragoon is gone now because the touch damage is too strong.
At the same time I added a few Aura belts.

(The AuraBeltNL pack is just a set of belts with reduced power for general usage, this is the real thing)

Telekinesis has become a little more expensive now, and the monster spawning rate was slightly reduced a few days ago.

I'm quite happy with the current balance, I'll do some more play testing and see what the comments are.
