Well I just tried running it and this is the ReadMe that came up
. I am checking out the maps and stuff right now to see what they are like.
Code: | Readme File
===========
This Readme file contains instructions on how to install
the Unreal Add-on scenarios to your system.
Important Note
==============
You must perform the following steps in
Windows, as the files that will be copied
to your system make use of long filenames.
1. How to install the Unreal Add-on scenarios
==========================================
Run the UNREALAO.EXE file which you downloaded
from the Live!Ware website, and follow the onscreen
instructions.
During the installation, the following files will
be copied over to your system:
Copied to the \MAPS folder in the Unreal directory
deathmatch1.unr
deathmatch2.unr
raver2revrb.unr
(If the copy of Unreal installed on your computer was bought
separately--that is, not bundled with Sound Blaster Live!--
the following files will also be copied over
to the \MAPS folder)
hall1a.unr
2shadow.unr
3shadow.unr
Copied to the \TEXTURES folder in the Unreal directory
text.utx
2. How to access the Unreal Add-on scenarios
=========================================
2.1. Launch the Unreal game in Windows.
2.2. Press the <`> key on the keyboard to bring up the
Unreal game console.
2.3. Load the Add-on scenario you want to play by typing the
following:
OPEN <add-on scenario> <Enter>
where <add-on scenario> is the scenario you want to play.
For example, type
OPEN deathmatch1 <Enter>
to play the "deathmatch1" scenario. NOTE: You must
press the <Enter> key after typing the preceding commands.
2.4. Repeat steps 2.2 and 2.3 to try out the different add-on
scenarios.
Level Descriptions
==================
These levels were created using the beta level editor provided with
the retail version of Unreal. There are many tutorials available
on the Internet which will help you create your own Unreal add-on
scenarios.
Deathmatch 1 and 2
These levels were designed around a central
core room with satellite hallways and rooms.
The emphasis is on keeping the navigation
simple for game play and for experiencing EAX.
No bad guys in these levels.
Raver2revrb
The layout of this level was designed to
emphasize the EAX experience. This level contains
bad guys, and you have to get to the end and step on
the teleporter to open the doors, usually...
Hall1a
This Deathmatch level is more spread out with
some secrets. Not all the walls are solid and
all things are not as they seem. No bad guys found
on this level.
2shadow
The bad guys in here are set to friendly so
they won't shoot until fired upon. There is a
female human bot in this level which usually
manages to find the eightball. Be ready for this
if you happen to open fire on her!
3shadow
This is a Deathmatch level in the form of a castle.
It's dark in here so be sure to pick up one of the
searchlights. And unless you like making small
craters, don't jump off the top without armor
and/or a force field of some sort. No bad guys on
this level.

Here is a link to the Bonus Map Pack that is listed on my Creative CD. You will need to copy Skycity.utx and AlfaFX.utx to your Special Edition copy in order to run these there. Reverb FX will only be active in the Special Edition at the moment.
They will operate fine otherwise in later Unreal versions.
The download is 1.6 Megs or so.

Maps included are:
Deathmatch1.unr
Deathmatch2.unr
Raver2revrb.unr
Hall1a.unr
2shadow.unr
3shadow.unr _________________ Darn Floppy Feet!!

I will get it done, quite possible i'll get it done today...
And I've also had it installed and I've tested it making sure it is what we are talking about and it is the Unreal Special Edition demo

It is already uploaded, so it's no longer necessary to upload. But thanks anyways. Read the posts before to see why. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

Not necessary but then again, it's not my problem how you use up your bandwidth... _________________ StalwartUK |

i downloaded from the link posted on this page, but when i ran the .exe, it told me that Unreal was not installed. Does this have to do with me having Unreal Gold? _________________ The WårLord

No, it probably needs some registry entries. A reinstall of Unreal would help if really neccessary. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

I don't know if anyone still cares for that Special Edition demo, but thus far, it's CD-check could only be bypassed by messing around with Unreal.ini file.
I tweaked around with Unreal.exe and removed the CD-check from this version. Hyper, you can safely replace the original Unreal.exe with this one and repack the archive - it causes no problems at all.
The patched EXE is located here.
No more messing around with Unreal.ini... |

Nice work. I never liked CD-checks on games.
I'll not change the archive, but put this fix online instead.
Update: Added to downloads; it is just below the SE demo download. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.
