I'm running a deathmatch server now. HyperDM is everything but a standard DM server: It's the 'evil twin' of the HyperCoop server: Play deatchmatch with Aura weapons/itmes, monsters, AKCoop2 and Joss' JTool. It runs a number of great maps from the days of glory of Unreal.
It has also be equipped with Smartballs Score Recovery.

This server features the same security features as the other servers: A server firewall (Blackice), Nepthys and UProtect.

with the creatures its baically coop. might you consider taking out the creatures? more people might be willing to play.

Wouldn't that be defeating the design of HyperDM? I think one main difference between Hypercoop and HyperDM would be that players are allowed kill each other in HyperDM.

On another note, JCoopZ could be used to cycle both DM and coop maps in a half-n-half type of server. Every other coop map could be remapped to travel to a DM map. Then the 'NoURLMap' setting can be used for the DM maps in combination with a CustomMapTimer. The only parts that couldn't be worked out from the available configuration options would be changing the 'bNoFriendlyFire' option to false during the DM maps and changing the gametype browser listing dynamically. A dependant mutator would need to be written that would toggle those when it detected specific maps.

Remove the monsters, yes, that would lose the HyperDM spirit. It would be interesting tho to have a DM server with Aura weapons. I remember Boodaflow hosted this in the past, listed as coop server tho. Sometimes with monsters and sometimes without. Both variants I enjoyed very much.

No mod is good enough for dm, Unless you rise the health of the players to like, 1000. Aura is way to stronge, and i wouldnt play dm that spawns monsters when you could be one. If there is maybe try out the mcoop2 mutator \ raise player health to a 1000 \ Delete monsterspawns \ Try HyperTDM. This should make it still coop but dm. Its the best i could think of for now. That i have not played there in some time.But i would infact play there if you do this.

Remember that Aura does not only have weapons. The weapons are certainly strong, but so are the shields and health regen.

i've been on DM lately, just trying it out a little more, with some other guy named OnlyMe, and it seems I spend most of the time trying to kill monsters. if i want to kill monsters, i got to either of the co-op servers.
It would be great to be able to use aura weps on other people, but not have to strugge to keep away from deathhunters and bloodmantas at the same time. would it be possble to make a server that was JUST deathmatch (people vs. people) like a normal DM server?

That's certainly possible. Then I would have to disable the spawner. But the idea of HyperDM was actually the merge of coop, DM and Aura games.

Well you should think Hyper Coop as just a start. It shouldnt be your whole idea. I do think the dm weapons might be ok. But you should also only host the server on DMDeck16 and DMObservatory. I suggest leaving swarms of blobs on dmdeck16 and pupaes on dmobservatory so while people are battling it makes it hard for them to kill other players. Chasing the players and making it hard for them to kill the other player. You cant kill the blobs. But they can hurt you so you have to run.

Hey Hyper. Thank you for the servers and for keeping u1 alive in the EU side.

I have been trying to get into your servers and i have failed so many times. Ive downloaded the cache from your webpage for HyperDM, but still i have to download a gazillion other things when trying to enter to the server. The DL speed is also very slow, i waited for 30 min for one time, and the downloading just stopped all of the sudden and i had to restart downloading.

Just wondering, any chance for you to fix this so that people can join much easier? That is without having to wait so long and go threw so much trouble to download whatever is needed in the page.

Unreal DM for europe can be active again, only problem is that the servers that are up and running just doesnt make it easy and lack the settings.

My cache packs are outdated now, you can download quickly and efficiently with the unreal 227 client. I enabled download redirection which means that your Unreal 227 client can download the compressed cache files automatically from my webserver.
