Crystal Castles test server online. Still no bandwidth upgrade, so it might lag from time to time. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

I got some stupid problem with my servers: The ports change. For example: I start my crystal castles server using this command line:
Unreal.exe CC-ArcaneTemple?game=Crystal.CrystalGame?difficulty=3 -server port=6666 INI=CCserver.ini LOG=CCserver.log
And it starts fine at port 6666 But after a few map changes it's now running at port 7784 for some reason. And when i try to connect to it I end up in my coop server. (Which runs at port 7777)
If anyone is familiar with this problem, plz let me know.
By the way: I updated the server status script for the new servers. Note that they'll only work when the servers are running at the right ports. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

That might be the reason that at the end of a CC game on your server it tries to go to your Coop server (it was going to The Sunspire map last night)
I hope that this problem is solved soon _________________ StalwartUK |

That's a new one to me. Perhaps you should specify the host port number from the INI instead of relying on the command-line for that. The CC server might be picking 7777 because it is defaulting back to it based on the the stored INI Port entry. Since HyperCoop is binded first to port 7777 that may explain why you connect there instead of the CC server. Did you see the 7784 port number from the server browser? If so, it is probably because the scripted behavior of normal query actors is picking ports consecutively upwards from the host port until it reaches an unbinded unused port for broadcasts.

Thanks for your reply.
Okay, I set the port in the .ini to 6666 also. It was at the default of 7777 indeed. And yes, I saw the port number 7784 in the server browser. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

*** ADSL connection upgraded ***
HyperCoop is running fine again. I did some small tweaks:
* Spam protection enabled again
* UProtect disabled (This security product seems to be incompatible with coop games.) It runs fine for a while but gives scriptwarnings and crashes the server.
* Number of pleyers allowed set to 6
* The dispersion update from the gemdagger hopefully works now. I still have to test this. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

Hyper you need to promote/advertise the DM and Crystal Castles servers more since they are pratically empty all the time (well at least when I look at them) . _________________ StalwartUK |

Well, my servers are all mentioned at the main page which is maybe gets 40 visitors each day, so players would know it. Maybe the majority of the players does not like the game type or never play anything else than DM, Team DM and coop.
So what do you want me to do? Spam all Unreal forums? Buy ads in the world's newspapers?
The game is available and for me that was the main target and I'm happy it is. I played it yesterday with 2 bots and 2 players and it was fun. Same for HyperDM: It's also empty most of the time, but still a nice server to play at, even when you are alone: Just fragging some monsters in these cool maps is a nice thing, especially for players who like both coop and DM.
maybe I can offer an extra server in the future with a more popular game type, because if these 2 servers are empty mose of the time there is bendwidth left for more. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.
