|
|
Me and a couple of friends are living in a house in which we pay for a wireless internet connection. We have all been assigned ip addresses so we can use the internet but have no control over the router. We have tried setting up a LAN unreal game and (with our firewalls turned off, just to test compatibility) two of us have manged to find each others multiplayer LAN games.
However when we try to connect to a game the other has made we both get a password error message, saying connection to server rejected. Given that there is no password dialogue when we create a server Im a bit confused.
If theres something really obvious that Im missing I apologise. Ive had a look at a lot of the links on your homepage, most of them seem quite dated now though, ie tips for connecting directly through a 56k modem. Cheers for any help.
(On a side note how would I set up a server so that I could play a co-op game with my brother who is in another country and also sharing broadband from a router which he doesnt really have any control over? Again I apologise if theres anything obvious Im missing.) |

Check n the server config if the GamePassword variable is set. It should be empty if you want others to be able to join the game. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

If that is not the case, and it still asks for a pw, check if you use a custom game type. These usually have their own password entries.
Other than this I do not know. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

Without access to the router settings you can not host a server behind it. A solution could be not take internet from the landlord but get an account of yourself. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.
