Gamespy stopped supporting unreal for being online now. Now unreal will rust away. Depression towards players. I experienced the last hour of unreal. Gamespy displays 0 Servers and 0 Pinged. This is very sad. _________________ Improvements along the way friends and foes.

Server browser works fine here, though I have Hyper's ESB installed. This issue only appears to be affecting some (some, I can get on just fine) European users.

The Epic master server(s) still supports Unreal1/UT99. I'm able to retrieve the master list. The problem is intermittent with only periods of failed connectivity.
Nobody should jump to any conclusions about the support status of the Epic unreal master server(s). If there is no official news directly from Epic headquarters then don't be so concerned about dropped support. There is this same talk (3rd time?) about the master server possibly shutting down every time there are temporary connection problems.
It's quite possible that the master server that hosts Unreal and UT99 has been experiencing some type of network attack or has a bad technical problem that they're trying to figure out.
If you want backup alternatives to list and view unreal servers then follow the master server tips (lab section) on Hyper's website. A few dedicated administrators including me have uplinked our servers on both master.thenerdnetwork.net and hyper.xs4all.nl .

Some downtime from th gamespy master is usual, but generally they do a great job. And in the unfortunate case gamespy will stop hosting the master, we can host our own master. Currently TheNerdNetwork and I both host backup masters, of which TNN is the semi official backup. (TNN has much better servers than my home ADSL connected server.)
I also offer the master server installer package at my site, which allows anyone to host an Unreal master if needed. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

In that case there would be problems for new players and those who don't visit Unreal forums.
I mean if GameSpy puts their master servers down you would need to reconfigure your Unreal to search for the new 'backup' master server.
