Hi I wanna make music for unreal, but I can't find ScreamTracker 3 even when I used Google. Can someone put a link to the download? I'm desperate!!! I tried using Acid but the insallation program doesn't support my operating system. I would appreciate more help from you guys!

Programming MODs and S3M is very complicated, I've tried it! I forget where to get scream tracker.

Greetings ...

ModPlug Tracker works great !! And it's FREE - just Google to find it.

The 1st thing to do is change mp3 (or whatever) in wav file ... 8bit mono 11050 Hz - to keep the file size down. This will keep the umx around the same size of the wav you're using !! I use dBpowerAMP (also free via Google search). It easily converts audio CD tunes into mp3, and then changes them to wav files.

Open the wav with ModPlug. Goto the "patterns" tab - you will see the pattern beneath each of the "channels" ... in channel one there's a code (for the pattern) - for example:

C105 .. .. .. A1F or something like that, followed (to the right) by the next channel - that will have only C105 .. .. .. ...
Then there are only .... .. .. .. ... (dots) for the other channels !!

Here's the key to the whole thing !!

"Select" the C105 code from channel 1 and "copy/paste" it beneath ALL the channels, so they ALL look the same - for example:

Channel 1 Channel 2 Channel 3 Channel 4

C105 .. .. .. A1F | C105 .. .. .. A1F | C105 .. .. .. A1F | C105 .. .. .. A1F

This has setup the main or "0" pattern - as you can see above where the channels are ...

'0' 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 .. .. .. .. .. .. .. or something like that.

Now click on ANY of the "1"s ... and you shold now see all dots under the channels - so "copy/paste" the A1F part of the code into the same place beneath the channel, as you did in the "0" - for example:

Channel 1 Channel 2 Channel 3 Channel 4

..... .. .. .. A1F | ..... .. .. .. A1F | ..... .. .. .. A1F | ..... .. .. .. A1F

DO NOT copy over the C105 part into ANY of the "1" patterns !! The C105 is the code for the "beginning" of the track !!
And once you've done one of the "1" tracks - all of them will be done (have the A1F pasted in).

Now in the "General" tab you can add EQ settings, Bass boost etc. Then "File" and "Save" is all there's left to do. ModPlug will save it as a .it file - which is what you want.

Drop this .it into your C:\Unreal\Music folder. Start up the Editor and goto the "Music" browser. "Import"the .it and "Save" it. You've now got an .umx file of your favorite CD audio tune !!

I'll eventually "screenshot" a tutorial of all this, but I've only got 10% of ZahltagSniper left to map ... after it's done I will. Maybe also tutorials for converting 226b Gold into 225F with Hex Editor, making landscapes with TerraEdit and stuff like that !!
