Hi2All,
I'll have my adsl service back in about a month and I was wondering
if You can help me tweak unreal. 56k modem connection, Ping is not so bad, around 200, game still playable, ok for me; I wish to configure
the net settings on client side to make the most out of the game if possible. I get a server disconnect after about 5 minutes. Is there a
workaround? This is just a test, till I get back on 650K.

Hi2All
I did some research and I found this.
In WinXP ,open properties of 56K dialup connection.
Click on configure. In the hardware panel
tick off hardware flow control
tick off error control
tick off modem compression
Connect to internet,
Then in the unreal console type NETSPEED 2500
It seems to be working now , I've been playing for a while and I had no disconnect from server.

I would leave these on. These are some settings that optimize your modem connection. Especially flow control is recommended especially for slower connections.

And yes a lower netspeed is just what 56k needs. Nothing is worse than having more traffic than a connection can handle.
