|
|
I received a few messages of players who's inventories disappeared at some time. I once had it myself when I was playing and after level switch my guns were gone. If you have any experiences with this problem, please post it here.
IMPORTANT:
There is one situation where this SHOULD happen, that is when you join with a different password than you used before. (Or when you joined with a password and join again without password.)
Also read the GemDagger instruction. This is to prevent theft of your inventory by other players. Also, when the server restarts, inventories are always lost.
If you followed the seps from the GemDagger instruction and still are experiencing problems, please describe them here. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

I had it twice today: One time when the level switched, and one time when I died and respawned. Both times I has a very large inventory. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

Both of these times it was on the same server correct? Also, what about inventory that you had in both instances when the rest were gone?
You mention about passwords and when they could then be changed/missing. GemDagger still destroys player inventory even with the 'bSecure' option is off? If that is the case then perhaps the password handling in GemDagger and JCoopZ is what I should investigate.
EDIT: I noticed two of your server's Aura packages had some noticable changes. Did BoodaFlow mention anything about changing the behavior or features of GemDagger in that release?

Yes, it was at the custom map server both times.

The inventory I has were the default items (Give items). All the resst was gone. (I remember leaving the last level with Dragoon boots on which I purchaces via the GemDagger and in the new level it was gone as well.)

No. When bSecure is off (it is off at my servers) the GemDagger takes no action when someone joins with a wrong password or no password at all. When the GemDagger strips an inventory, it also renames the player to 'cheater' and that did not happen as well.
However, the GemDagger still needs a password otherwise it selfdestructs.

No. The Gemdagger is in a package that was not included in the updates, so I'm 100% sure it was not changed. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

Player called Borg lost his inventory whilst we were on the Klingon level before the one in the screen shot.
I lost my weapons on the level after this one, also last week, I never logged in. I did this time round. although I lost my weapons my inventory was fine, bullet amp spider legs etc.
When The Warlock With The Gilded Claw started I started to scroll through my weapon I only had like 3 showing in my stock as I scrolled my weapons came back ( has anyone else noticed this)
take a look at the screen shot just before I lost my weapons its not the 1st time I've seen this and on both occasions I lost my weapons.
as I say all my weapons have been restored, I don't mind loosing them it makes it more fun in a way to get them back

Holy Cow, those scores are huge!
Any idea what the number of the Klingon map was?
It goes from klingon1 to 16. Then I can do a test there. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

Chat log with Azure about this problem:
It looks like this was just a case of the security (Anti-inventory-theft) and not a bug.

I've seen seven's score above 11,000 a few days ago. I'm sure it's probably near or above 20,000 by now. Good server uptime with your latest setup it seems.
Reconnecting fixed Azure's problem? That doesn't seem right to me. If JCoopZ security reacts it should strip inventory to a player even after the player reconnects to that map. Anyway, this is the steal protection in this case, and doesn't appear related to what others have reported already or the loss from "Starteda" to "Wooper1a" maps before they were removed.
SpaceMan mentions scrolling through weapons and they manage to appear back. That seems more like a replication failure causing the inventory list to not load fully on the client at first.

Interesting, I remember losing my entire inventory except the weapon I was holding at the time and the default items when I died and it was on a Klingon map... probably nothing to do with this but just thought you would like to know... _________________ StalwartUK |

There is one way players can tell if missing inventory is the result of the steal protection or something else. When the steal protection reacts your score in the scoreboard should reset to zero or at least not show up as the number it should be at. If the score in the scoreboard is intact after missing inventory then it is most likely something else gone wrong, possibly from a specific map or map pack.

The server is up for 15 days now. And the last two downtimes were for maintenance, not because of crashes. It's performing excellent! Without JCoopZ this would not be possible. Thanks again _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

3rd time I've lost items and weapons in a since the restart, all on the klingon maps.
2nd time round I logged in again and everything came back.
After the next two levels I lost mostly everything,, my score stood at 8000 something( theres a map where pawns respawn, DB knocks up the score quick )
whilst I lost nearly everything again, I was left with maxamp INVIZ and regeneration.default weapons. I lost like 2000 frags , spiderlegs ; DB etc.
It only happens to me on the Klingon maps.
I enjoy playing those older maps, still you cant have everything |

I want to experience this problem for myself so i can investigate it. Do you have your client log? I need to know on which level it happened exactly (Klingon1 to 16) and if it happened while playing or when changing levels.
Also, can you rule out that you changed name, password or your user.ini? These can trigger the anti-lamer thief security which also strips you from your inventory. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.
