Precaching is a process that loads the textures in memory before the level is loaded. This gives a more fluid gameplay because you don't have to load them when you are playing.

I use the same principle on my website: the most common images on my site are loaded before the main page loads.

It's an advanced bookmark for MS Internet Explorer, originally introduced in Internet Explorer 4.0.

No, nowadays it's hardly anything more than a bunch of bookmarks, but originally it could also notify you of site updates and auto-sync for offline viewing. But that's with IE4. With the introduction of IE5 the channels merged with favourites.

I assume that the screenshot is from IE4.

You can also use Active Channels (and RSS) to deliever the latest news into the user's bookmarks (and link em to the appropiate news post)

Prehaps I (or you) should do a poll on what browser ppl use... :idea:

Also i've seen something esle on your site, somehow you've gotten IE to render TITLE as the tooltip on images instead of ALT that is the one usually rendered

Then I have to update the channel/RSS file every time I add some news. I don't like to do that. I use TITLE instead of ALT because only IE displays ALT text as tooltips, and I also like the tooltips working on other browsers like mozilla/opera.

</rss>

Copy and paste this and save it as a .rss file.

If you're looking for an icon to use on your site, here's one:

Shot of it working:

Also if you want to get a RSS subscription icon to appear whithin the browser window insert this code into the HEAD section of a page:

Code:
<link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="RSS" href="http://websiteaddress/hypercoop.rss">

Webside address is where you should add the appropaiate url and directory where you're going to store the rss file ;)

Unfortnatly I haven't figured out how to get tooltips to show up when you hover your mouse over them...

Well you can try it out here: http://www.freewebs.com/hypercooprsstest/
