System specs are the following:
Windows XP 2002 (Service Pack 2)
Pentium 4 2.00 GHz
512 MB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce FX5500
SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio
The version of Unreal is 226F.
The problem is that running Unreal on Direct3D lowers my framerate tremendously, although this has never been a problem before. I've run Unreal under these specs for the past four years flawlessly. Everything just started to go downhill without alarm.
There was also a problem with the game not loading at all, this appeared to be a problem with DirectSound being on. |

I also had problems with that DirectSound thingy but I couldn't use unrealEd cuz it was crashing before the start.
Check if you have the proper RenderDevice set.
F.eg. OpenGL will most probably crash your Unreal. _________________ Beware the lollipop of mediocrity - lick it once and you suck forever.

Have you tried the OldUnreal Multimedia Patch (OMP) which has a new OpenGL renderer? It works fin with nvidia cards. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

Figured I'd try the same method I used on Unreal Gold, works fine again. |
