Hello all, I am a long time player of Unreal... Actually player since the release and I was about 6 or 7 years old. Back in the day... about 4 years ago I used to run a server with alot of Aura stuff (Including Gemdagger), my own mods and a few others under jCoopZ1 or jCoop5... (Im pretty sure it was Zombies tho.)
When I ran the server everything was fine, no crashes, no lag, and stuff and its still that way. BUT now for some reason, when I log into my server I get labeled as a cheater items are stripped and renamed to cheater...I don't think jCoopZ1 does that nor 227 so I think its something with GemDagger. But I never had that problem before so I think its conflicting with either 227 or JCoopZ1.
I know GemDagger gives u a password to save your inventory, jcoopz1 gives you a "active password" when you log in as admin, and 227 has some anti-cheat tools or whatever but Im not sure how they work. Anyway, I would love toget this problem fixed so can anyone help me with that? I want to get my server back up as soon as possible. thanks |

Players can get labeled a cheater if their GemDagger does not detect a matching password from previous levels. You may have to disable 'bSecure' option in GemDagger (test.ini file), and you might need the version Hyper's servers use.
The ActivePassword in JCoopZ is to securely maintain the administrator session, and may conflict with GemDagger if the 'bSecure' option is kept enabled. If you plan to stay logged in as administrator you may want to use 'bNoInventorySteal' option in JCoopZ instead to guard the GemDagger economy.

Yea, you need to either do that or subclass gemdagger and set BSecure to False in properties, that's what i did. _________________

Thanks for the help. What zombie said worked out (Disable bSecure). Funny how I skipped over that option after I messed with everything else. Anyway, I ran into another problem... My inventory is being stripped from me since I enable bNoInventorySteal... Its kinda the same thing with bSecure except I don't get renamed to Cheater . I don't want to disable them both cuz I need my security. |

that has all to do with the gemdagger, i know what i'm talking about , been messing with that problem quite alot till i decided to subclass Gemdagger, put BSecure to false, and save it, voila, fixed. This is not the fault of JCoopZ, it's Boodaflow's overprotection on that item. _________________

Yeah, I disabled bSecure and it isn't saying:
Incorrect password.
renamed to Cheater.
Now I think it is Zombie's no bNoInventorySteal because now, I have no message saying incorrect password just stripped inventory... But, its ok I guess... I was thinkin if I used my UGold installation to play on my server would it give the same problem... But I think it would since I'll still have to log in as admin.
Or, if I played through my virtual PC which has a different IP address than my server... idk tho just options.
And this goes particularly to Zombie... I remember on ur server you had the "mad cow" and a nali I think was called a Sage but idk. Anyway they would attack players. I wanted to ask you if I could get a copy of that and use it on my server. If you say no its fine. Don't worry I won't cache rip u or nothing. |

My guess is your play configuration is read-only, and JCoopZ has not saved its starting settings to it yet.
The DZ server has the Lethal pawns (Tentacle, Cow, Nali). I think SoulReaver or somebody else made there own variation of a "Mad Cow" as well as a deadly "Sage" nali. Although if you are wanting what is on DZ you can probably find some unauthorized (ripped) 3rd-party distributed version of my non-public mod. Just do not expect any help with it.

I just checked my Unreal and User ini files. Neither are read only... but something is prevent the setting from saving... I noticed that when binding my keys. Whenever I try to use set input command, they never save. I think thats windows vista needing to confirm for admin rights for EVERYTHING... So maybe its preventing Unreal from saving its settings... If htats the case I would need to run Unreal as Administrator which would prevent me from using my controller because xpadder would need to be run as administrator too... which will make the 2 programs conflict.
*sigh* this is getting frustrating...
on to the lethal pawns... lol.. I know there are some non-authorized version of ur stuff out there...I ranbinto a few servers and its said Now Downloding "DZItems" I knew they were cache ripped... But na, I won't use them without ur permission... |

All interacting programs with full control on the computer should work as intended. Are you saving the priviledge level to both program executables in file Properties->Compatibility?

What I mean is... When I select Unreal and xPadder to run as administrator, for some reason they conflict. While Unreal is in the main window, my controller does not work... but once I minimize it it works... So for some reason the two conflict |

If you'd just listened to me, the gemdagger issue would be fixed, (IF you are still on that). _________________

Nope, I ain't still on that. It works fine now... We were talkin about settings not being saved which was probably why I kept being labled as a cheater in the first place. But now I can run both programs as administrator with no problem. I dunno what changed since the last time I did but I'm glad it changed.
Thanks for all the help from you too.
Now all I have to do is get my server fixed up so I can keep it dedicated 24/7 |
