|
|
Hello!
I'm attempting to install Kerberos 1.3 on an Unreal 225f server running under Linux and WINE. The server engine crashes when the first player joins.
As per the instructions, I have created a fresh new install with only the 225f patch installed. It works on my local WinXP machine but not on the Linux server.
Here is a link to the log file:

Any ideas or hints?
Thanks! |

The readme file indicates a re-installation of Unreal to fix joining issues, but you've started fresh already. I don't know why your Linux / Wine and Kerberos mix doesn't work, that combination should be supported. All I can think of is making sure you installed the right Kerberos.dll and Kerberos.u file versions for the v225 server.
Kerberos v1.0's .U file can be ran in ServerActors mode which avoids the mutator CheckReplacement routine altogether. You need to E-Mail WingedUnicorn about letting you test that beta copy to run in ServerActors or just tell him about your problem since he knows more about Kerberos then anyone.

It looks like Kerberos v1.3 is not supported anymore on Linux/Wine. Not a big deal, something better than Kerberos will arrive soon (and will be 100% compatible with any OS)... just wait for a little bit ;) _________________ Ride to the starlight... there, where heroes lie |

Linux surely has it's strengths. Not for Unreal nor gaming in general (although it IS possible) but more for professional tasks like web servers. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.
