Hello, I have a problem with editactor command. I can use it in my single player game (v. 226), I can also use it when I'm on a server, but I can't change anything (that's normal). But when I want to use it with 'admin' prefix, it crashes the server without any message. The same occurs when I'm trying to use that command in server console. The server's version is 225, I am using JcoopZ1 Build 115 and DZMapM 2-15. I would like to be able to change objects' variables' values, but I'd like to change variables of each of objects, I don't like to set all variables of objects to the same value. The same occurs when I use the command on other games' servers using Unreal Engine. I tried to run the Unreal Server without any JCoopZ and DZMapM, but it still crashed. Thanks in advance. ;)
Btw: I hope the post contains enough information. _________________ Neo_b - http://neo_b.go.pl |

EDITACTOR CLASS=classname: During game play, edits the properties of the nearest actor belonging to that class. Cool for debugging.

Please check if you typed the command corretly. For example, when you want to adjust the properties of the nearest ASMD, type "editactor class=asmd". This should also work for you, since it's a command that is present in Unreal 226 that you use. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

It works only locally, doesn't change anything in the server (when I write it without admin prefix). I'd like it to change values on the server (for example using command "admin editactor class=nali" crashes the server while I'm logged in as admin, I'd like it to show me the properties of nali that I can change not locally, but on the server). _________________ Neo_b - http://neo_b.go.pl |

Only use the 'editactor' command locally without the 'admin' command. You would never want to use it on a dedicated server. When you want to change properties of an actor on the server use "admin set SomeClass SomeVar SomeValue". If you need to see what properties you can change first then use 'editactor' locally or launch UnrealEd to look at the Actor classes before trying an "admin set " command.

And what if I'd like to change the properties of a particular object? What if I don't want to change value of all objects of the class? Is there any command that I can use to change particular object by writing its name? (for example Automag4) _________________ Neo_b - http://neo_b.go.pl |

You may try 'editactor' when hosting a listen server (not dedicated). That should work since the server is hosted from your own Unreal instance, but I haven't tested. If it doesn't work or is not a desired option then you would either need to write a mutator or an administrator command mod that can apply property changes to specific actors.

I would make a mutator if I knew how, but I don't have time to learn now. ^^ That would probably work on listen server, but I would make it only to show something to someone, because hosting a listen server normally is not comfortable. _________________ Neo_b - http://neo_b.go.pl |

The server's version is 225. I would be grateful if you made a mutator. ;) _________________ Neo_b - http://neo_b.go.pl |

I didn't make any mutator yet, but maybe if I wasn't lazy and read some tutorials I could make one. :O _________________ Neo_b - http://neo_b.go.pl |
