|
|
I have a couple custom skins and want to use them on my server.
I do have the .int for the texture, and am able to select the skin in player setup.
the problem is, when I start the server using the custom skins in the server packages
(ServerPackages=Male1CheeseM). when I start the server, an error pops up saying all the memory is used up.
I was reading a tutorial on this:
Quote: | 12) To use skin in a server that has the file in the serverpackages, you must set your players team color to gold,
or, in the user.ini and unreal.ini set it to 255 |
Well, I don't think I have anything like that in the Unreal.ini, so i go on to user.ini.
Quote: | Name=Cheese_'n_Crackers
Class=Unreali.MaleOne
Skin=Male1CheeseM.Cheese
Team=255 |
Okay, it's already 255.
I go into setup, and change the team to gold.
It switches me to the Male1 Gold skin.
Alright, so I switch back to my custom skin, and exit Unreal.
I go into the User.ini. Still the same: 255. So, I decide to try again.
Still doesn't work.
This has started to frustrate me, and I just removed the skin from the serverpackages..
Can you guys help me out here with this? _________________

I know where the unreal.ini is.
I just don't see a "team" setting for you're player.
But there is a team setting in User.ini. which is already 255.
But that's not the problem. The problem is that I can't use any
custom skins on my server without it crashing. _________________

In the User.ini

In user.ini the team is already 255. _________________

There isn't a team setting in unreal.ini.
But anyways, I finally got it so my server doesn't crash,
by putting the skin name in Male1skins.int instead of having my own int.
But, the skin still doesn't work. I checked the server log..

JCoopZ: Incoming Player named Cheese_'n_Crackers desired MaleOne and got jzMaleOne
Log: Loading: Package Male1CheeseM
JCoopZ: Logging in to Na Pali Haven
Log: Possessed PlayerPawn: jzMaleOne SkyTown.jzMaleOne0
JCoopZ: All inventory from Cheese_'n_Crackers is accepted

Do custom skins not work with JcoopZ or something?
How can I get them to work?[/b] _________________

Custom skins should work fine in JCoopZ. In terms of skin loading nothing has changed since JCoop4. I've seen Oblivion[CW] as well as others using custom skins from his packs so I know there is no broken compatibility.

Your package is loading into memory during LOGIN instead of when the level starts. If you look further up in the log you should see where the other skins are loading along with the other packages as soon as the level is just starting. I'd make sure your skin package is in the 'ServerPackages' array or else clients will not load the package on their side. Also, you can safely remove "Team=255" from your ini file completely, it will generate back in the ini file when changed anyway.
If you still have problems e-mail me your skin package so I can test them out to see if I can spot a problem.
