Hi everyone, sorry if this is in wrong section, but,

The NxS clan now has a dedicated server in UT2003, and I tell ya, it's been a wild ride setting everything up and learning new things.

The question that I would like answered, since I can't seem to find it anywhere else, is:

Will a UT2004 mod work with UT2003?

The particular mod in question is called AdminPlus which disables the cheat command blockage that Epic incorporated into the game. It sucks when you are admin with full privaledges and you can't summon, fly, ghost etc. The author made it for UT2004, and it is compatible with all UT2004 patches.

The mod only contains a .u file, a .ucl file, and a readme on how to set up your servers .ini

I E-mailed the mod maker several days ago, but have recieved no response, nor any response on unrealadmin.org or any other forums.

I know alot of you guys are excellent mod makers and are true patriots of the Unreal Anthology. Perhaps you may know of an already existing mod for UT2003 that enables admin console command privaledges that I may have not of come across during days of searching?

I would most appreciate ANY input on this matter!

my answer would be...yes. and for 2 reasons:
UT2004 is the same as UT2003, only with better graphics and new gametypes and stuff.
second reason would be that they use the same editor, and so the same class tree.
so, unless im wrong, it will work. else you just need some1 that can convert it.

I fully upholding Bleeder.
UT2k3 and UT2k4 were made at same Unreal runtime environment (means on same engine - UEngine 3.0).Difference is only in things such as improved graphical core and, maybe, native functions to able more productivity on not very powerful computers.
Another thing why it must be compatible with UT2k3 - all new actors via objects in UT2k4 are based on basical classes from UT2k3.

But main thing - same engine versions.In other way, if they be different, you will be disabled to run mods from UT2k4 on UT2k3.Like you can't run mods from UT G.O.T.Y. in Unreal 1 or Unreal Gold.

I don't want to interrupt you guys but, not ALL ut2k4 mods are compatible with ut2k3. ut2004 uses some new functions/gametypes etc ut2003 doesn't has. As long as you keep an eye on that, there will not be any problems for using ut2004 mods in ut2003.
