Hi all.
Post this message to inform you all guys, that from today I started development of new website related to Unreal.
I'd found nice provider (not at Freewebs.com or Dot.tk), who gives good abilities for hosting.Only thing thet I need - to learn HTML code a bit .
Hosting is free (a I think after reading of his 'Terms of Service'), from beginning gives 200mb free disk space and it rises with time.
Mainly, development will be started later, when I'l know HTML code at user's level. |

Nice work. And good luck with the HTML.
@Bleeder: I also use frontpage for my site. I like to have the ease of use of a wordprocessor (WYSIWYG) combined with the power of a HTML code editor for the more adcanced tasks and tweaks. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

My answers:
1. All mods are in one directory at my web server. You can see this in the path when you hover over the download links.
2. Yes, I use frames at my site. I find this very useful myself because it provides a good separation of the menu and the content. However, over the years frames have gotten a but of a controversial status. It does have disadvantages: for example it makes it difficult to link to the right pages and it is easy to make mistakes when linking to other sites. (Other site opening inside the frame, which is bad practice. On the web you can find a lot of discussion about the (dis)advantages of frames, like on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Framing_(World_Wide_Web). _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

I gave a few search engines my url to chew on.
To get attendance:
1. Make some interesting content.
2. Keep your layout clean. Some beginners in website design make the mistake to put the site full of animated gifs, flash animations, blinking text or mouse followers.
3. Try to get your site linked on other Unreal sites. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

There's no anything like animated pictures and/or flash animations.About content...Whell, I'm gonna to upload all my Unreal mod collection there. But not now, maybe this weekend. Now I'm adding links to other websites and portals related to Unreal.I also want to make page, related to all about Index of Unreal Script.
But about section 3...I'l try to inform users and site owners through forums. And I think best place to start - OldUnreal's forums.
Besides, did you saw my webpage? That design costed me a lot of work, using books and online help about HTML, BB and PHP codes. |
