Whenever I use ghost mode to go through walls, or use the jump boots and jump really high, and look down at the level, Unreal crashes. And this error message pops up:
This seems to happen mostly on Bluff, I jump over the big door (the one right after the long bridge thing at the beginning) and right as it shows the rest of the level...
CRASH!
I came here for help, after about 5 crashes in a row..
This has also happened on other servers besides mine...
Maybe it has something to do with my video card? It seems to happen when displaying lots of polygons.. But I do have a 128mb video card, that shoudn't be a problem? ...
Can someone please help? the crashes do get annoying after a while! _________________

It's not your videocard. It's another annoying Unreal bug. Remember that Unreal was made with 4 MB Voodoo Graphics cards in mind? Then 128 MB is really a lot. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.

Hm.. that's a fine thing..
Maybe lowering the video settings will do something?
I'll go try that. _________________

You might want to try a different renderer in unreal. You have choices of Software, Glide (using wrapper), Direct3D, OpenGL, and Smirtsch's OpenGL patch. I recammend Smiftsch's OpenGL patch or Glide with zeckensack's wrapper depending on what unreal version you play with. You should be able to find links about this at oldunreal.
I've had similar crashes to that one too, but it only happens once in a while on certain custom maps.

Hmm.. okay..
I'm currently using 'Direct3D Support', because I have an ATI Radeon.
And it says it's compatable with that.
I tried the 'Software Rendering Support' and that just gives the game
crappy graphics and makes it so dark it's unplayable.
I don't have a 3dfx card, so I can't use the '3dfx Glide Support'.
And there are no other video card options on the list.
so I guess i'm doomed to constantly getting gpf's while playing...? _________________

When you install the glide wrapper, you can use 3DFX Glide. You can set it in advanced options, AFTER you installed the Glide wrapper.
Or get the OldUnreal Multimedia Patch. _________________ Alter your reality...forever.
